Comparing to the original; this is darker, earthier, and more dense. Added incense, woods and resins. However, it still carries that undeniable, instantly recognizable Encre Noire cypress-vetiver. I believe this fragrance (or the original) is a must own for any fragrance enthusiast. An affordable change of pace wearing from the standard fresh, blue, or aquatic designer offerings most of us have. Encre Noire A L'Extreme is the ultimate rainy day scent, and has since become mine. You really don't have to be that brave to pick this up if you've been debating it. Just do it! Glad I did!

The full package. Memorable scent. Solid duration. Healthy scent cloud. Very versatile. What more is there? The first thing you take away when wearing Layton is the rich and smooth layers of depth. Exactly what you have in mind when forking over the extra cash and upgrading to a niche fragrance. A clear step up from standard designer fragrances. The menthol accord... One of the few knocks you hear about this fragrance I actually LOVE. It gives it character; setting it apart. Helping it break away from the generic tag some. It manages to turn what would normally be a fall/winter only fragrance (with the spiced apple and vanilla), to something you could wear most of the year with that added fresh, almost minty menthol. It's quite addictive!

Epic man smells like class, u have your pepper and spice, and it impresses. It smells like a classy businessman or a dinner date maybe even a spot for drinks after the projection is fantastic and it lasts for 4-6 hours
