Review for Parfums De Marly Haltane
Haltane Batch- 2021 I bought Haltane because reviews kept on mentioning its very similar to Oud For Greatness (which I truly love). However upon receiving it, I do detect the similarities. But to my nose, its not THAT similar as reviews suggest. Oud for greatness goes into the darker and sweeter direction, whereas Haltane goes into greener subtle sweet direction due to praline. I’ll emphasize the word “Green”. Yes the DNA similar. But the similarities to my nose is due to the saffron in both. Other than that there are differences in composition of notes and it is not redundant to own both. If you love oud for greatness, I highly recommend to get Haltane. I consider this as a different variation of Oud for greatness DNA. If no one mentions its similarities to OFG, i wouldnt even compare it to OFG. Overall its worth a blind buy, and i would consider Haltane as a seperate unique fragrance (I would not associate it with OFG). Longevity- 4/5 Projection-4/5 Scent- 4/5 I do still prefer OFG since it has more pronounced oriental/middle eastern vibe which I love. Longevity and projection is also better.

Percival batch 1171058, 78% vol This is fragrance is as versatile as it can get. If you live in tropical country like me. This is a banger scent. You will see people kept on mentioning its similarities to Mont Blanc Legend and Abercrombie Fitch Fierce. Yes it is similar, but the differences in percival are detectable as well. The blend and non so synthetic nature is apparent. Therefore consider it as a “niche” or higher quality blend with a few differences which makes percival to top both Mont Blanc Legend and AF fierce. If you want a complex and dark scents, then this isnt for you. If you already have alot of complex and “niche” fragrances, and you are looking for easy-to-grab manly, versatile and compliment getting fragrance. This is for you. There will be times you want to use something non complex or deep fragrance such as Percival, without sacrificing quality. Longevity-4/5 (6-8 hours) Projection- 4/5 (3 hours) Scent- 5/5 (Not complex but high quality)
